Description:
1. 6 credit hours in English or one language other than English
2. 12 credit hours from the Faculty of Arts (not ECON 2613, 2623 or SOCI 3103)
3. 6 credit hours in Mathematics
4. 6 credit hours in Computing
5. 6 credit hours in Biology, Psychology or Nutrition and Home Economics
6. 6 credit hours in Chemistry, Geology or Physics
7. 36 credit hours additional from the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science
8. 12 credit hours of electives
9. The 60 credit hours listed in 3 through to 7 must be chosen so as to include 18 credit hours from each of any two Pure and Applied Science subjects. If Mathematics is one of these two subjects then either MATH 1013/1023, 1713/1723 or 1613/1623 must be included. At least 30 credit hours must be at the 2000 level or higher
10. Specific course choices, except for electives, must be approved by the Dean of Pure and Applied Science. At least 72 credit hours of the required 90 credit hours must be completed with a grade of C- or better. A minimum CGPA of 1.5 is required to be eligible to graduate.

This programme is intended mainly for those pursuing studies in the health professions (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, etc). In some cases it may be suitable for intending science teachers of science journalists.

Not all courses are available externally.

Entry requirements:
Admitted individuals include; applicants with Nova Scotia grade 12 or equivalent, letter of permission students, mature students, senior citizens, transfer students.

Students admitted to Acadia University on a 'mature student' basis may be admitted to a degree programme upon completion of 18 credit-hours with a mark of C- or better. Credit for these courses will be allowed towards the degree.

Administrative information:
Students may register in a total of 12 credit hours at one time. On successful completion of this 90 credit hours programme, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science.
